For I am my only motivation. Tis the place I shall speak my mind.

Author John Scalzi was on a roll this morning (currently 7:14 AM, 26 Sept. 2014) with a tweet he found from some guy sending out an “ultimatum” to women to “make a choice” between feminism and, well, men like him. So Scalzi launched into a truly magnificent set of scorchers, which I’m posting here for the delectation of people everywhere.
Also: I would like to thank that guy for setting the ultimatum. It makes finding a boyfriend so much easier when the undesirable ones wear a placard identifying themselves.
"It’s very simple. I hate women who believe that they deserve rights, and I don’t want to be the only one so I’ll assume all men are just like me."

Let’s talk about these double standards here.
Miley Cyrus and Nick Jonas. Both former disney stars. Both adults now. Both trying to express their real selves and get out of their disney phases.
When Miley started the transition, she got so much hate. Every celebrity news site was calling her a whore, saying how “inappropriate” it was for the former Hannah Montana star to be showing off her body in such a way, and even making fun of and shaming her body type.
When Nick Jonas recently released these photos of himself grabbing his fucking dick, he got such a positive response. "Nick Jonas Grabs His Junk, Shows Off His Abs and Happy Trail in New Flaunt Photos" Everyone’s calling him “eye-candy”, and encouraging him. No one’s calling him a slut. No one’s calling him a whore. No one’s saying he’s a “bad role model”.
I mean, just look at these two headlines and tell me this is fair treatment.
I’m so beyond done with this shit.
I don’t agree with all the things Miley does but I’ve found myself to become more and more fond of her. I think she’s very strong and brave to express herself the way she does (yes, her background gives her the privilege, freedom, and spotlight not enjoyed by others).
Don’t know much about Nick Jonas but my first thought when I saw his pictures is, why is he grabbing his junk? It doesn’t look sexy/manly, it just looks stupid, if not trying too hard to give a “jock/hunk” impression. Maybe I’m too judgemental but I’ve seen too many images of men (cis and straight) grabbing their junks as a symbolism of their manhood, power, and dominion over everything else. It’s as if they are proclaiming, “Look, I have a dick, and it’s big so I’m a man and I’m powerful.” I find it distasteful, if not barbaric. It feels like after centuries of cultural (r)evolutions, men measure their worth by the size of their reproductive organ.

A Mom went to have dinner with her son who lives with his roommate.
During the course of the meal, his mother couldn’t help but notice how handsome his roommate was. She had been suspicious about her sons sexuality but being a good mother she felt that he would let her know if and when the time was right but seeing the two together just made her more curious.
Over the course of the evening, while watching the interaction between the two she wondered even more if there was more here than meets the eye. Her son, sensing his mothers watchfully eye volunteered, “really Mom, I can tell what you’re thinking and you can just get it out of your mind, we are just roommates and nothing more”.
About a week later the roommate remarked, “ever since your mother was here the silver serving platter has been missing, do you think she took it?”
He responded, “Well I’m sure she didn’t but I will email her and ask just to be sure” he sat down and wrote:
I’m not saying you did take the silver platter from the house and I am not saying you didn’t take it but the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you were here for dinner.
A couple days later he got a response from his mother:
I am not saying that you do sleep with your roommate and I am not saying that you don’t sleep with him and you know I love you and could care less either way but the fact remains that if he was sleeping in his own bed he would have found the platter under his pillow.
When are the two of you coming for dinner?
O SNAP I LOVE THIS
really, the handsome part could have been left out. The writer obviously wanted us to make the connection between handsomeness and someone being homosexual. why else would anyone say someone is handsome then go ahead and say they have been suspicious for a while. =.=
just my thought.

What is love?
Apparently only for white people.
Dude, you do realize this ad is Italian right? Those people are Italian, because it’s an Italian ad. Italian people are typically white. This ad is suppose to be about acceptance in THEIR country, why would they have models that don’t look like they’re from their country?
I’m gettin’ real tired of tumblr’s attitude. I’m probably going to get a lot of hate for this, but here we go.
Not everywhere is as mixed as North America. You go to places like Japan and it would be really weird to see a white person in their ad, it’s no different for places like Italy and Germany where people are mostly white. In North American we seem to have a decently even mix in a lot of areas so it’s a little off-putting when there’s only a certain race -generally all white people- depicted, where it’s completely normal and would appear really strange otherwise for other countries. Like you wouldn’t go to China and demand they show white people in their ads there, so why would you do the same for a country that has very few PoC compared to it’s population?
As the person above me said, why would they have models that don’t look like they’re from their country in their ads?
Seriously, I am Italian, and FUCK YOU. Our country has huge problems with homophobia, there isn’t even one single law to protect homosexuals. Most European countries have legalized marriage and adoption (or at least talked about it), but not Italy. The Catholic community does everything they can to block the law against homophobia. Last month, a 14 years-old killed himself because he was gay. You have no idea how much that kind of thing matters in Italy, all you can fucking do is whine about Tumblr about the fact that they are all white. Yes, in Italy the majority of the population is indeed white. Not the rest of the world is like fucking North America. So before you come whining about it on Tumblr, get your facts right.
I love it when reality slaps the fuck out of Tumblr.

Reality bitch-slapping whiny fuckers on tumblr brings me such joy. And props to my countryman up there layin down the facts.
actually, in some southeast asian countries, white people appear in ad just as frequently as people of color. if you say that you can’t expect to see white people in ad in an asian country, you obviously haven’t traveled and/or understand how deeply western standard of beauty has penetrated the globe.
with that said, i agree that the OP missed the point of the foreign ad about homosexuality acceptance, not about skin color.

In 2009 Brazilian artist Nele Azevedo carved 1,000 ‘Melting Men’ out of ice and placed them in Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt Square to bring awareness to Global Warming.
why does it have to be “men”? I get it can mean mankind, etc. but why can’t it just be “melting” or “melting people/human” or whatever. i was looking at the pictures and i didn’t see men. I saw human figures. Then I saw the title, and it totally ruined it for me. I’m weird.
